Did you realize that 50th Anniversaries and Birthdays for this year are for those who were born or married in 1975! For some people, 1975 seems like ancient history, for others it may bring back fond memories and nostalgia of high school, youth and good times. Who could forget tuxedos with ruffled shirts! It was a unique time for all with iconic movies and music, too. I have seen many memes lately that remind us that, “The number of years from 1985 to 1945 and how you felt about 1945, is the same amount of time from 2025 to 1985.” Let that sink in for a few minutes!

Times may have changed but the reasons people celebrate are always the same. It is an expression of love and joy, and bringing people together for a mutually shared experience and to create memories.
That is the beauty of our events world: Every Story is unique. Every Journey is a New Adventure. Every couple has their own story with chemistry and magic.
The celebratory occasion may be repeated multiple times during a year, but the manner in which people choose to share their Joy is where the Gold is. We love uncovering those golden moments with each of you. Melding traditions with new twists is at the heart of creativity and ingenuity. We can‘t wait to hear your story! It is fun to find similarities and commonalities as well as uncover areas that are refreshing and new and weave in your ideas to make the moment fresh and new. Sometimes it is a color, fragrance or flower that can evoke a nod to a different place or time and tradition; it is easy to weave in those elements to create a sense of nostalgia without an event looking dated.

We have seen the greatest movement and change in wedding celebrations and receptions. Most couples do not incorporate all of the traditional wedding elements that might have been popular at their parent’s celebrations. Most couples decide which elements, if any, they want to incorporate such as the first dance or the bouquet toss. Most couples do not want to do anything just for the sake of doing it. For them, it must add to the experience or have meaning for them and their story, or they will often opt to leave it out. It is common now to have a friend or family member serve as the officiant as it allows for the ceremony to be even more personal beyond writing vows.

Another common change is the movement away from a traditional catered/sit down meal. Most people – not only brides and grooms – do not like the traditional formal service of assigned seats and a plated meal. It is very popular to have a casual, open seating plan with stations or food truck style of food service. More down to earth and simple vs the formality of traditional service. This is one way that many couples choose to create their own unique celebration as well as making the day unique unto themselves and their story. We love the simplicity of this style and work with couples to be sure the logistics work for all age groups in attendance.

Whether we are planning Anniversaries or Weddings, Birthdays or Baptisms, We love what we do and incorporating personal nuances of each couple or family is what keeps events fresh and us on our toes!
